Custom Woodworking

Custom woodworking is a blend of innovative designs and practical construction techniques. When combined, it allows a client’s dreams and ideas to become a reality. The custom aspect lets us create pieces that will fill odd sized or strange shaped areas. It gives the client options. They can choose the species of wood, and the type of finish - painted or stained. Magazines and home shows give lots of ideas from which clients want to imitate. This is the way those dreams can come true in their own home.

All the components are made individually and not on assembly line. We take the time to use old world construction techniques such as English dovetail drawers and solid wood construction. Solid woods and plywood are our materials of choice. Rarely, if ever, is engineered wood or MDF used and, whenever possible, all materials and hardware is made in the USA. These parts are joined together using wood joinery methods, i.e., glue, screws and nails, not stapled together like mass manufactured units.

Running a custom woodworking shop allows us to handle all aspects of woodworking. Library desks and bookcases, mantels, vanities, media credenzas and entertainment centers, and mudroom organizers are in our portfolio. All projects can be customized to complement or change your home’s interior.
