About Platko Enterprises
Platko Enterprises, Ltd is owned and operated by John and Bernardine (Berni) Platko. We began operations as Platko Painting over 17 years in the Charlotte Metro area. Over the years we have expanded through education and experience to include remodeling. Our portfolio includes additions, whole house / extreme makeovers, basements, kitchens and baths along with bar and custom cabinets.
Our motto has always been “Quality Makes a Difference”. We strive to fulfill our commitment on each job to produce a quality product and to respect the client’s house and time.
Our #1 priority is communication and honesty. Our primary goal is customer satisfaction for without a satisfied customer, our business would not be a success.
The majority of the time, we select products before the contract is signed. By avoiding “product allowances”, we are able to plan ahead. Thus, we can keep change orders at a minimum, your budget intact and stay on a firm time schedule.
We are fully licensed and insured with both general liability and workers compensation.
John’s duties include the daily operational management of the business at the jobsite. He does all the painting estimates and, when needed, he can still cut a straight line with a paint brush using either hand. John has developed his skill as a carpenter and employs them in the field.
Berni is the president of the corporation. After many years at a successful office management career, Berni returned to the class room to receive her degree in Interior Design from CPCC in 1996. From there, she obtained her SC Residential Builder’s License and NC Residential Limited General Contractor’s License. She also continued her education with NARI and became one of the first hundred people in the nation to receive a certification as a NARI Certified Kitchen and Bath Remodeler or a CKBR.
Both John and Berni served on the Board of Directors for the Habitat of Humanity in Lancaster County. Berni is a volunteer tutor for the ESL program at the Literacy Council of Union County. Platko Enterprises also supports the Indian Trail Athletic Association.
